A Painting For Keji Inufune
Here's a painting I did for the creator of Mega Man Keji Inufune. I was supposed to present it to him at the private Capcom I am 8-Bit closing show on Wednesday night, but lo and behold, he never showed! Well, he supposedly got the painting the next day at E3, thanks to my good friend Jon Gibson.
I was really nervous to do a painting for Keji Inufune. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say and show.
This is my favorite game in the series, Mega Man 3. The first appearance of Rush his dog. I remember as a kid wanting a dog like Rush that can turn into a floating platform, a submarine and a springboard. I also like the idea of the really american notion of a "boy and his dog" introduced in a Japanese video game. What better way to show my appreciation for his idea?

Is the second one done in vectors? How did you get the shapes on the third one to match the previous exactlly?
I love your drawing. I've played some Megaman games but I never had a nintendo so I only know Rush from the game magazines I used to oggle. My gaming story began with the atari 2600 but from then I jumped to 16 bit. At most I played the Sega Master System in a friend's house. Oddly, the SMS was a lot more popular here in Brazil than Nintendo ever was. In fact Nintendo was not even officially released here, the consoles were all imported.
I loved the paiting, I really like how you do your 'dirt', Mr Swarr.

How many post-it notes do you go through in a month? :)
I go through three maybe four of those stacks of postits a month. I love drawing on those things! I think I really warmed up to them because of storyboarding. Hundreds and hundreds of post-its everywhere!
