I Am 8-Bit 2011: "Friends 1980-1988"
Here's my piece for the latest I Am 8-Bit Art Show:
It's called "Friends 1980-1988" and yes, this 2 foot by 4 foot monster is made entirely out of duct tape:
It took nearly 2 weeks and of back breaking exacto-blading to finish this.
I tried to include every one of my favorite NES and arcade games
Bionic Commando:
Legend of Zelda:
Pac-Man:
Castlevania:
Excitebike:
...and one of my all-time favorites T&C Surf Designs:

Man you need to just do a piece that is a homage to the awesomeness that is T&C Surf Deaigns, I remember watching you play that sucker back in school.
Also holy shit duct tape! That is such a wonderfully awkward medium. Was everything you did constrained to fit within the width of the tape or did you make some shapes like Donkey Kong out of two or more parallel strips? It really looks good.
I'd think about hopping a train down to LA if I wasn't right in the middle of crunch time for my own show. Hope rhe show goes well!

For the larger shapes, I used Duct Tape sheets. You can tell how big one sheet is because DK's body was almost one whole 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.
Are you selling this at the show? I can never make it (East Coast and all), but would definitely be interested in this.
